Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus
Negeri Sembilan which literally means Nine States is a state located at the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Going with the full name of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus is neighbours with Selangor at the north, Melaka at the south and Pahang by the east. It is one of the smaller states in the Peninsular but is not short of attractions here.
It was previously settled by the Minangkabau people who came from West Sumatra. The most influential traits perhaps that are still evident until today perhaps would be the architecture of the houses and the dialect that are still spoken in the state. These people came by during the 15th century.
It is populated by almost 1 million people of which almost 50% are made up of the malays. Although it is makes up the states of the country, it does not have a Sultan as a ruler, instead it is led by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar. The capital is Seremban while the Royal seat is located in Seri Menanti in around the Kuala Pilah district.
The state is predominantly an agricultural state that involves oil palm and rubber. There are also some manufacturing plants ehre that produces chemicals, furniture, metal and rubber products in around the districts of Nilai, Sungai Gadut, Tuanku Jaafar Industrial Park, Tanah Merah and Senawang. Another firm attraction here is Port Dickson, a coastal city with visitors coming to have a good relaxing time at the beach side almost every weekend.
Apart from its capital of Seremban, other main towns here include Mantin, which is a tine mining town, Port Dickson the typically renowned beach resort, the Ulu Bendul Waterfalls, Pedas Hot Springs and the Seri Menanti Royal Palace. Its capital, Seremban remains as one of the sub-urban areas of Kuala Lumpur which is a small town in comparison, but has its own uniqueness. The town is very much famous for its Siew Pow which is highly demanded all over the country.
