There are various attractions here in Selangor, which makes it one of the most visited states in the country. In Shah Alam alone, its capital, one can see the Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Aziz Shah, a mosque that has a huge aluminium dome and is believe to be one fo the biggest ones in the world. Batu Caves is an age old cave that is famous for the Temple or the Cathedral Cave where a Hindu temple is located, welcoming thousands of devotee here every year during Thaipusam.

The Malaysia Agriculture Park is located near Shah Alam. This is a 1258 hectare Agriculture park, known for its biggest agro-forestry park in the world. There are almost every type of agricultural species from the country housed within this park. The park also hosts its own suspension bridge, bird and safari park, Temperate House, 2 dams and a fishing lake. In Kuala Selangor, the former Royal Seating of the state, the city that is located at the mouth of the Selangor River is where local and international tourists visit to see the fireflies that surround the river trees at night.

The state of Selangor also houses the Muzium Orang Asli, which means the Aborigines Museum. Located in Gombak, one can view and appreciate the lifestyle and items used in their everyday lives.

In terms of waterparks, Sunway Lagoon is one of the most visited parks in the country. The international standard water theme park here have various attractions like water slides, wave pool, waterfall garden and food outlets, all housed within a resort styled hotel and shopping mall. In around Sungai Besi, the Mines Wonderland is another water park which goes with a similar concept although it also has a man made lake used for wake-boarding and watersports.

One could also go over the Pulau Ketam, a fishing village which is popular with the fact that the whole residence here live on stilt houses. One could savour some great fresh seafood here while enjoying the picturesque views of the sea and the living styles of the people.

Apart from attractions, food in Selangor are also its main attractions. The renowned Bakuteh, a pork stewed in medicinal soup, seafood and satay are all common favourites not only from the state but all over the country.
